The principle was to unveil the unknown microbial assemblages of two Borage species under the influence of two soil regimes and the obtained results of alpha and beta diversity via full length 16S rRNA gene PacBio sequencing revealed natural soil to be significantly higher in microbial richness and diversity compared to artificial soil along with a decreasing microbial gradient across rhizosphere to endosphere. For finding clues regarding possible invasiveness of Echium plantagenium, roots were found to selectively recruit microbes associated with Cyanobacteria and Actinobacteria that were rarely distributed in rhizosphere
