Gene expression analysis of the skeletal muscles of a mouse model of spinal and bulbar muscular atrophy (SBMA) with or without exercise

To investigate the molecular pathway underlying the effect of exercise, we performed microarray gene expression analysis of the quadriceps of transgenic mice carrying full-length human androgen receptor (AR) with 97 CAGs (AR97Q) at 9 weeks of age with or without exercise. Exercise was started from 5 weeks of age and maintained for 4 weeks. Male AR97Q mice were examined at 9 weeks of age for each group (sedentary or exercise). Total RNA was isolated from the quadriceps of three mice in each group.
