Earthworms and AM fungi improve salt tolerance in maize through symplastic pathways

This study shows that soil biointeraction with earthworms and AMF enhances salt tolerance by modulating the root symplast pathway, reducing Na+ accumulation, improving K:Na ratios, and up-regulating genes involved in ion transport and antioxidant defense.
