Below-ground plant-associated microbial communities in mining disturbed and natural sites in Schefferville, Canada

The revegetation of mine sites improves ecosystem recovery and reduces the mobility of pollutants. Thus, we investigated the below-ground fungal and bacterial communities associated with resilient native plants growing on a contaminated northern mine site using metabarcoding and ecological networks.Because plant-microbe association determines host fitness, understanding their relationship in this habitat is paramount for subarctic mine site reclamation.
