Characterization of the fecal microbiome of the Volcano rabbit (Romerolagus diazi), an endangered species endemic to Mexico

This project aims to generate and publicly share raw sequencing data from the fecal microbiome of the endangered Volcano rabbit (Romerolagus diazi) from Iztaccihuatl-Popocatepetl National Park. The data will support future studies on the species: ecology, conservation, and microbial diversity. Samples were collected from individuals in their natural habitat and processed using high-throughput sequencing shotgun.
