Clothing haul: Generation Z's awareness on the biodegradability of fast fashion in the landfills

This data contributes to the knowledge on fast fashion environmental impact awareness, in Ekurhuleni municipality and by extension South Africa, which is currently a study area yet to be fully explored, thus could assist in improving the existing legislation pertaining to waste management in South Africa, such as the Waste Management Act: Extended Producer Responsibility regulations, Integrated Waste Management Plans as well as also understanding the behaviours of a generation cohort that will impact consumer sales on a global scale which will contribute to landfill textile waste. Generation Zs shopping habits are very complex and don’t often align with their values, as much as they may be aware of environmental harm caused by textile waste they also value an affordable brand new clothing item.
