The oral-gut axis plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). We investigated the relationship between tongue coating and gut microbiota in IBD patients. A total of 596 participants (91 UC, 278 CD, 227 HC) were included. Analysis of 16S rRNA sequencing data revealed shifts in gut microbiota composition in IBD patients, with distinct clustering patterns in tongue coating microbiota.
