FIDES: A reliable foundation for risk analysis – Linking Galician fishing fleet registries with marine casualty and incident records (2011–2021)

FIDES is a consolidated dataset prepared for maritime risk analysis in the Galician fishing fleet. It integrates structural and operational vessel characteristics from three official registries (EU, Spanish, and Galician) and links them with marine casualty and incident records from the CIAIM (Spanish Maritime Investigation Commission) for the period 2011–2021. The dataset includes both vessels that experienced any of the events of interest (marine casualties or incidents) and those that did not, enabling comparative risk analyses. It contains variables describing vessel dimensions, power, hull material, age, fishing gear, and operational area, as well as event‑related information (type of event, year and geographical coordinates).
