The YPL image database provides information about the subcellular localization of proteins in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Proteins harboring chromosomally integrated C-terminal GFP tags (Huh et al., Science 2003) are visualized by GFP fluorescence by confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). YPL.db is an ongoing project with the aim to provide localization data for all yeast proteins and harbors entries for ~ 3,500 yeast proteins. The database is currently hosted by Yeastgenome.org, Stanford, USA
