Code and Data for "Subsurface kinetic energy source driven by Charney-type instability in oceanic fronts"
收藏资源简介:
This repository contains the source data and MATLAB plotting scripts used to reproduce the main and supplementary figures of the manuscript "Subsurface kinetic energy source driven by Charney-type instability in oceanic fronts". Repository contents The repository includes processed plotting data in MATLAB .mat format and MATLAB scripts for generating the figures. The files are organized as a flat file list. Each plotting script reads the corresponding .mat file or files and reproduces the associated figure panel or figure. Figure-to-file mapping Fig. 1a: Figure1a.mat; script: Figure1a.m Fig. 1b–e: Figure1bcde_t1.mat, Figure1bcde_t2.mat, Figure1bcde_t3.mat; script: Figure1bcde.m Fig. 2: Figure2_SF2.mat, Figure2_SF3.mat; script: Figure2.m Fig. 3a: Fig3a_data.mat; script: Figure3a.m Fig. 3b–d: Fig3bcd_data.mat; script: Figure3bcd.m Fig. 4: Fig4_plot_data.mat; script: Figure4.m Fig. 5: Figure5.mat, Figure5_SF2.mat, Figure5_SF3.mat; script: Figure5.m Supplementary Fig. 1: FigureS1.mat; script: FigureS1.m Supplementary Fig. 2: FigureS2.mat; script: FigureS2.m Supplementary Fig. 3: FigureS3.mat; script: FigureS3.m Supplementary Fig. 4: FigureS4_SF2.mat, FigureS4_SF3.mat; script: FigureS4.m Supplementary Fig. 5: script: FigureS5.m Supplementary Fig. 6: FigS6_data.mat; script: FigureS6.m Supplementary Fig. 7: FigureS7.mat; script: FigureS7.m How to reproduce the figures Download all files from this repository. Place the MATLAB scripts and .mat data files in the same working directory, or update the file paths in the scripts accordingly. Run the plotting scripts in MATLAB to generate the corresponding figure panels. Multi-panel figures can be assembled from the exported panels using vector-graphics or image-editing software. Software requirements The scripts were prepared for MATLAB. Some scripts require commonly used MATLAB toolboxes or external MATLAB utilities, including functions for mapping, oceanographic calculations, and color maps. Required custom helper functions should be placed on the MATLAB path before running the scripts. External data products used in the study The study uses AVISO sea level anomaly and surface geostrophic velocity data from the Copernicus Marine Data Store, ERA5 atmospheric and wave reanalysis data from the Copernicus Climate Data Store, and MITgcm LLC4320 simulation output from NASA/PO.DAAC. These external data products are cited in the manuscript Data Availability statement. DOI https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19121763
