We applied DNA metabarcoding targeting the ITS2 locus to assess fungal diversity in airborne dust passively collected with electrostatic dust collectors (EDCs) deployed in elementary and junior high school classrooms located in subtropical, tropical, and eastern Taiwan, with different schools sampled in hot and cool seasons to make seasonal comparisons. Additionally, we aimed to examine seasonal changes in commonly detected fungi with known allergenicity.
