A price survey conducted across all supermarkets nationwide revealed that the average price for 1 kg of ginger was 1,420 yen in October 2024. Over the period from January 2015 to October 2024 (a span of 118 months), the month with the highest price for ginger within the national supermarkets was November 2016, at 1,497 yen, while the month with the lowest price was July 2023, at 1,333 yen. The price difference between the peak (November 2016) and the lowest (July 2023) price periods for 1 kg of ginger across the national area was 164.5106 yen.
