Canadian Gallup Poll, September 1989, #909_1

This Gallup poll seeks the opinions of Canadians, on predominantly political and social issues. The questions ask opinions on Canada's capital city, taxes, smoking habits, Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, women in the workforce, and women vs. men issues. There are also questions on other topics of interest such as Jean Chretien, environmental issues, whether or not organic food is free of toxins, whether or not nurses should be allowed to strike, the NDP leadership, Quebec, language rights, free trade, and questions related to political party preference. The respondents were also asked questions so that they could be grouped according to geographic, political and social variables. Topics of interest include: Canada's Capital; government taxes; smoking habits; Brian Mulroney; Free Trade with United States; Quebec; language rights; organic food; environmental issues; opinion of teachers; political party preference; and Jean Chretien. Basic demographic variables are also included.
