This dataset comprises three files—two CSV files and one PDF—detailing the research objectives and bibliometric data of 117 robotics laboratories from leading institutions in the United States, Europe, Japan, and Australia. The first CSV (converted_data.csv) encodes binary features (1 = presence, 0 = absence) for each lab’s declared research goals, facilitating systematic correlation‑matrix analyses across problem‑based and solution‑based approaches. The second CSV (scopus.csv) contains quantitative bibliometrics—publication counts and citation impacts—exported from Scopus to support trend analysis in global robotics research. The PDF (full_lab_details.pdf) provides comprehensive profiles of all labs, including methodological types and target application contexts. All files conform to IEEE DataPort’s supported formats (CSV, PDF) and may be uploaded together under a single dataset entry with multiple files. Users can load the CSV files via standard data‑analysis libraries—e.g., Python’s pandas.read_csv()—to reproduce published analyses. Each file includes metadata for variable definitions to ensure immediate usability without additional preprocessing. By combining quantitative and qualitative data, this dataset promotes transparency, reproducibility, and further exploration of research trends in robotics.
