资源简介:
Taxonomic (species) records of fish/nekton collected as part of the
Brine Disposal Project Study. This study was an examination of the
effects of elevated salinity levels that occurred in portions of the
Gulf of Mexico, as a result of removal of a large terrestrial salt dome.
The dome was dissolved and the resulting solution was pumped into the
Gulf of Mexico, to allow the Department of Defense to utilize the
resulting space for emergency petroleum storage. These data were
collected by Texas A&M's Environmental Engineering Division from the
shrimp trawler, the Captain Jack. Data parameters include vessel,
agency, station, sample, and a 10-character taxonomic code "utilizing
NODC taxonomic codes". Minimal documentation is available. Original data
from Tape nos: B19272, B19273 and B19274 have been converted and stored
in the current NODC data storage format.
