To test whether the human brain extracts cues about a face's emotion and sex at different processing stages, we decoded patterns of brain activity over time from evoked responses to a diverse range of unfamiliar, naturalistic faces. This dataset includes the stimuli, data, and code used in the study. The stimuli comprise all 900 images selected from the Wild Faces database. The data includes behavioural and EEG recordings from each participant, as well as preprocessed derivatives prepared for decoding analyses. The code consists of all custom scripts developed to perform decoding analyses, time-resolved representational similarity analysis, and low-level visual feature analyses.
