Termite Mounds as Promoters of Ant Diversity: A Comparative Study in the Kruger National Park

We investigated ant species richness and abundance on and off termite mounds. After sampling with pitfall traps and active searching, we separated the ants into morpho-species. There were significantly more ant species on the mounds than off the mounds. There was no difference in overall ant abundance.
