Volatile Organic Compound Releases

This data set is a subset of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA)
Envirofacts point data set which includes facilities included in the the Toxic
Release Inventory. Information on total pounds of volatile organic compounds
released in 1995, 1996, and 1997 (from USEPA's Toxic Release Inventory CD-ROM
and website) has been included. This data set is designed to locate or plot
manufacturing facilities included in the Toxic Release Inventory and display
volatile organic compounds releases in pounds per year. The following are the
volatile organic compounds (VOC's) selected to calculate the total releases at
each facility. Not all of these chemicals actually appear in the TRI data set,
but this list was used to select releases to sum for each facility.
