Optical and Upconversion Properties of A3Y(PO4)3:Pr3+ (A = Sr, Ba) Phosphors

The article reports the synthesis and detailed optical characterization of novel ultraviolet‑C (UV‑C) phosphors Sr₃Y(PO₄)₃:Pr³⁺ and Ba₃Y(PO₄)₃:Pr³⁺, prepared by a solid‑state method. The study investigates their structural, spectroscopic, and upconversion luminescence properties, demonstrating efficient UV‑C emission under suitable excitation and highlighting their potential for UV‑C applications in areas such as sterilization and environmental technologies. The work emphasizes the development of effective UV‑C phosphors to advance UV technologies for healthcare and sustainability challenges.
