2010年～2022年 世界の電子ごみ排出量

2010年以降、電子ごみの廃棄量は世界中で増加し続けています。2019年には約5,360万トンに達したと見込まれており、わずか5年間で4,440万トン増えた計算になります。2019年に世界で廃棄された電子ごみのうち、回収・再利用されたのは、わずか17.4パーセントに留まりました。 
世界の電子廃棄物に関する詳しい情報 
昨今の技術進歩に伴う消費需要の拡大によって、ごみの総廃棄量に占める電子廃棄物の割合が増加しました。排出量の内訳をみると、2019年時点では小型家電（掃除機、電子レンジなど）が約1,740万トン、大型家電（洗濯機、乾燥機など）が約1,310万トン、熱交換器（エアコン、ヒートポンプなど）が約1,080万トンとなっています。 
2019年、電子ごみの発生量が最も多かった地域はアジアで、2,490万トンでした。同地域の電子・電気産業の成長率は、2020年から2022年まで世界最大であったと見込まれています。一方、2019年に米州と欧州で発生した電子ごみの量は、それぞれ約1,310万トンと約1,200万トンでした。とはいえ、1人当たりの電子ごみ排出量が最も多かったのは欧州で、1人当たり約16.2キロとなっています。次いでオセアニア地域が1人当たり16.1キロ、南北アメリカ地域が1人当たり13.3キロでした。 

Since 2010, the volume of electronic waste has been continuously increasing globally. It is estimated that in 2019, it reached approximately 53.6 million tons, with a calculated increase of 4.44 million tons over just five years. Of the electronic waste discarded worldwide in 2019, only 17.4% was recovered and reused. More detailed information regarding global electronic waste is available. The expansion of consumption demand due to recent technological advancements has led to an increase in the proportion of electronic waste within the total waste volume. In 2019, the breakdown of emissions showed that small household appliances (such as vacuums, microwaves, etc.) accounted for approximately 17.4 million tons, large household appliances (such as washing machines, dryers, etc.) for about 13.1 million tons, and heat exchangers (such as air conditioners, heat pumps, etc.) for about 10.8 million tons. In 2019, the region with the highest volume of generated electronic waste was Asia, with 24.9 million tons. It is estimated that the growth rate of the electronic and electrical industry in this region was the largest in the world from 2020 to 2022. On the other hand, the volume of electronic waste generated in the Americas and Europe in 2019 was approximately 13.1 million tons and 12 million tons, respectively. However, the region with the highest per capita electronic waste emissions was Europe, with an average of about 16.2 kilograms per person, followed by Oceania with 16.1 kilograms per person and North and South America with 13.3 kilograms per person.
