We used whole genome resequencing data from six codistributed songbirds in the Ethiopian Highlands to assess how two lowland biogeographic barriers to sedentary taxa - the Blue Nile Valley and Great Rift Valley - impact the phylogeography of dispersive taxa. We also aimed to assess how genetic diversity varies across the region and how changes in effective population size influence those regional diversity patterns.
