This article examines the nature and structural components of sociolinguistic competence in foreign language teachers. In modern language education, teachers are expected not only to deliver linguistic knowledge but also to guide learners in understanding the social and cultural dimensions of language use. Sociolinguistic competence plays a critical role in enabling teachers to model authentic communication, interpret cultural nuances, and facilitate intercultural understanding. This study explores theoretical perspectives on sociolinguistic competence and analyzes its key components, including pragmatic awareness, discourse skills, cultural sensitivity, and contextual adaptability. Using qualitative methods such as literature analysis and reflective observation, the research identifies effective practices for developing sociolinguistic competence among teachers. The findings highlight the importance of integrating sociocultural knowledge into teacher education programs. The article concludes with recommendations for enhancing teacher training and professional development in this area.
