Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Typhimurium strain:SBI_BS17_EJ_BD Genome sequencing

Poultry chickens are pivotal sources for the people in Bangladesh to meet their protein needs. However, they can act as carriers for a number of zoonotic diseases, such as virulent and multidrug-resistant (MDR) Salmonella spp. These bacteria pose a risk of entering the human food chain and cause diseases including food poisoning, enteric fever and diarrhoea. The objective of this study was to genomic insight, molecular profiling of virulence and drug resistance genes in Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Typhimurium str. SBI_BS17_EJ_BD isolated from chicken sample in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
