Data used in the paper 'Inbreeding depresses altruism in a cooperative society' accepted in the journal 'Ecology Letters', along with R code used for analysis. See the associated research paper for details on data collection. In brief, the data is from a long term research project on banded mongooses (Mungos mungo) in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda. The data file attached includes behavioural, life history and genetic data - see the notes in the column headings for clarification. The data was collected under licence from the Uganda Wildlife Authority and the study has been ethically reviewed by the University of Exeter.<br>If you would like to use the data for further analyses then please do not hesitate to contact Prof Michael Cant and/or Dr Hazel Nichols for clarification of the data and collection methods, and for updated versions of the data set.
