资源简介:
This is data of cohort-based case-control study titled “Evaluation of antigen-detecting and antibody-detecting diagnostic test combinations for diagnosing melioidosis”, which were derived the data of the prospective observational (non-interventional) study of community-acquired sepsis and severe sepsis in Sunpasithiprasong Hospital, Ubon Ratchathani province, northeast Thailand (Ubon-sepsis study NCT02217592).
In Ubon-sepsis cohort, from March 2013 to January 2017, we prospectively enrolled adult patients (age≥18 years) who were admitted with a primary diagnosis of suspected or documented infection made by the attending physician, were within 24 hours of hospital admission, and had at least three sepsis diagnostic criteria documented in the medical record (PMCID: PMC6157894 and PMC6886203).
In this study, we conducted cohort-cased case-control study to evaluate combinations of lateral flow immunoassay (LFI) detecting B. pseudomallei capsular polysaccharide (CPS) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) detecting antibodies against hemolysin co-regulated protein (Hcp1) or O-polysaccharide (OPS) for diagnosing melioidosis. Both cases (n=192) and controls (n=502) were derived from a Ubon-sepsis study. Case is defined as patients with a clinical specimen culture positive for B. pseudomallei. Control is defined as patients with blood culture positive for Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli or Klebsiella pneumoniae and with malaria or dengue polymerase chain reaction assay positive. The main outcomes was 28-day mortality.
The data comprises of demographic, 28-day mortality, bacterial culture results, Dengue and Malaria PCR results, LFI and ELISA results of 694 patients from a total of 4,989 patients enrolled into the Ubon-sepsis cohort at Sunpasitthiprasong Hospital, Ubon Ratchathani province, Thailand. There are two files available, the data and the data descriptions.
