In this study, we present a chromosome-level genome of Gobius paganellus, generated using a combination of high-fidelity (HiFi) PacBio long reads and chromosome conformation capture (Hi-C) derived short reads. We further annotated repeat elements and protein-coding genes using a newly produced multi-tissue RNA-Seq dataset alongside extensive protein reference databases. The protein-coding gene annotation has been deposited in figshare.
