Liver regeneration retardation poses a possibility of graft function lose after transplantation. In the present study, JCAD was identified as a positive regulator of liver regeneration post partial hepatectomy (PH). In brief, JCAD deficiency leads to an impaired liver regeneration after partial hepatectomy as a result of mitosis blockage. Mechanically, JCAD competes with LATS2 for WWC1 interaction, resulting in LATS2 inhibition, YAP activation and enhanced expression of cell cycle-associated genes.
