LINGUOPRAGMATIC FEATURES OF INTERTEXTUALITY IN ABDURAUF FITRAT'S WORKS AND THEIR REPRESENTATION IN ENGLISH

This study investigates the linguopragmatic features of intertextuality in the works of Abdurauf Fitrat and examines their representation in English translation. Intertextuality is considered one of the central mechanisms of meaning construction in literary discourse, functioning through historical, religious, cultural, and ideological references. The research focuses on identifying intertextual units in Fitrat’s works and analyzing their communicative and pragmatic functions within the Uzbek linguistic and cultural context. Particular attention is devoted to the ways these intertextual elements are rendered in English and to the semantic and pragmatic transformations occurring during translation. The study employs qualitative, comparative, contextual, discourse, and translation analysis methods. The findings demonstrate that intertextual references in Fitrat’s discourse possess significant pragmatic and ideological value, contributing to persuasion, cultural representation, and national identity construction. However, many of these meanings undergo partial transformation or pragmatic loss in English translation due to linguistic and cultural differences. The research contributes to the development of linguopragmatics, intertextuality theory, and translation studies by highlighting the interaction between language, culture, and discourse in literary texts.
