Hydrogen production costs projection in the U.S. 2030, by scenario

The hydrogen market in the United States is expected to have production costs between 1.28 U.S. dollars and 2.16 U.S. dollars per kilogram in 2030. Steam methane reforming (SMR) hydrogen is forecasted to cost 1.28 U.S. dollars per kilogram, while electrolytic hydrogen is projected to have the highest production cost, at 2.16 U.S. dollars per kilogram. The U.S. hydrogen market is forecasted to generate some 140 billion U.S. dollars and offer 700,000 jobs in 2030, assuming an ambitious deployment scenario.
