To understand the transcriptomic response of herbal vine Aristolochia contorta under herbivory of specialist herbivore (dragonfly swallowtail; Sericinus montela), transcriptomes of leaves under control treatment, simple wounding, and simulated herbivory (wounded and rubbed with oral secretion of specialist herbivore) were sequenced (for de novo transcriptome assembly).
