资源简介:
This repository contains the dataset used in the study "An Atmospheric Predictor to Estimate the Atmospherically Induced Water Level at Coasts with a Shallow Continental Shelf".
Dataset Description:Predictor.mat- The optimal predictor was derived from Sea Level Pressure (SLP) and Sea Level Pressure Gradient (SLPG) fields over the South Atlantic region.- These fields were adjusted to account for the propagation times of waves and surges from their generation areas to a target point on the coast of southern Brazil.- To reduce dimensionality, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was applied. The predictor is represented as the time series of the Principal Components (PCs) that collectively explain 99% of the dataset's variance.
Predictand.matTime series of:- Runup = Wave runup- SS = storm surge- AWL = Total water level at the coast, resulting from atmospheric forcings (SS + Runup).
More details on the methodology to define predictor and predictand can be found in the pre-print version of the study: https://doi.org/10.22541/essoar.173655501.11664490/v1
