Black Sea macrozoobenthos data from the 'BRIDGE-BS July-August 2022 cruise' performed in Romanian Waters

This dataset presents macrozoobenthos data collected during the BRIDGE-BS cruise in July-August 2022 along the Romanian coast of the Black Sea. Benthic macrofaunal samples were collected using a Van Veen grab (0.1 m² sampling area) from a research vessel. The samples were sieved on board through a 0.5 mm mesh and preserved in a 4–10% buffered formaldehyde saline solution in 5 L plastic containers. In the laboratory, samples were washed again through 0.5 mm and 1 mm sieves and sorted under a stereomicroscope (Olympus SZX10) for the identification and separation of benthic macrofauna. Data are reported as organism density (indv/m²) and biomass (g/m²). Data is in OBIS format. These data were generated within the framework of the BRIDGE-BS project and are intended for scientific research and environmental assessment purposes.
