Bubalus bubalis bubalis Targeted Locus (Loci)

This project investigates the faecal microbiota of Italian Mediterranean dairy buffaloes in relation to dietary composition. Using 16S rRNA gene sequencing, the study aims to characterize bacterial communities and assess how different feeding strategies, including variations in forage to concentrate ratio and linseed inclusion, influence gut microbial diversity and composition. The results contribute to a better understanding of diet microbiota interactions in ruminants and their potential impact on animal health and productivity.
