Climate change-induced glacial retreat is a global phenomenon. The effects of climate change-induced retreat on the microbial ecology in different glacial melt-fed aquatic systems have been illuminated in many studies, but the resolution of seasonal dynamics has been limited. Here, we studied bacterial community composition and function in a proglacial Tibetan lake to elucidate how glacial melt-fed aquatic ecosystems response to the seasonal changes in glacial retreat.
