ICON tracked deep convective cloud statistics and data accompanying the manuscript "Convective controls on anvil cloud evolution in the ICON km-scale global climate model"
收藏资源简介:
Datasets accompanying the manuscript "Convective controls on anvil cloud evolution in the ICON km-scale global climate model" by Mathilde Ritman, William K Jones and Philip Stier, which is to be submitted to Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics (ACP). The folder 'dcc_statistics' contains netCDF files of deep convective cloud properties for systems tracked in the ICON km-scale climate simulation published by the NExtGEMs project (production run 4008) over the Amazon region (-83 to -83°E and -15 to 15°N) for the model week 1-8 July 2021. The folder 'w_histograms' contains NumPy files recording histograms of 500 hPa vertical velocities above different thresholds for random times sampled over the same simulation subset. The thresholds used are specified in the associated manuscript. The file 'system_validity' records data used to filter valid from invalid systems from the full dataset of tracked deep convective clouds. The file 'what_got_tracked' contains the total amount of updrafts and anvils identified and tracked by the method developed in the associated manuscript. The remaining files contain data used to produce the figures presented in the manuscript.
