Based on experimental measurements, it has been observed that the internal temperature of a sedan varies significantly depending on its position (windshield, windows, and air conditioning console) in hot and humid climate conditions. These temperatures are also influenced by the external environment and seasonal changes. Additionally, they are affected by the type of interior ventilation.
The obtained data evidence the greenhouse effect inside the vehicle, showing that temperatures in areas such as the windshield and rear window considerably exceed the ambient temperature. The main findings indicate that temperatures on surfaces exposed to the sun are highest, and the seasonal influence is evident, with higher interior temperatures in spring. The data distinguish between high surface temperatures and indoor air temperatures, highlighting the importance of heat transfer.
This dataset is valuable for validating predictive thermal models, optimizing air conditioning and heating systems, improving vehicle comfort, and conducting safety studies that warn of the dangers of high internal temperatures. The data provide a detailed basis for understanding the complex interaction between climate and a vehicle's thermal environment and are a useful tool for automotive engineering, thermodynamics, and heat transfer research.
