资源简介:
This study delves into the relationship between individual characteristics of the elderly and their health perceptions in urban open spaces, with a specific focus on Shiraz City, Iran. As urban populations age, understanding this relationship becomes crucial for effective urban planning. The research employed a descriptive-analytical method within a survey framework, gathering data from a diverse group of elderly residents in Shiraz. Key individual characteristics, including age, occupation, education, gender, and frequency of visits to open spaces, were analyzed in relation to their perceived health dimensions, such as social, mental, and physical health. The study utilized non-parametric statistical methods, including the Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests, to explore correlations due to the non-normal distribution of the data. Regression analysis, particularly the Best Subsets Regression method, was used to identify significant predictors of overall health perception. Furthermore, Dynamic Grey Relational Analysis (DGRA) provided a hierarchical insight into the prioritization of health aspects by the elderly. The findings revealed significant correlations between the surveyed variables and health perceptions. Notably, physical activities in open spaces, proximity to these areas, and gender emerged as influential factors. The results highlight the importance of accessible, activity-promoting urban open spaces for the elderly's well-being. This study contributes to the field of urban planning and gerontology by offering valuable insights into the needs of an aging population in urban environments. It underscores the necessity of creating inclusive, health-promoting urban spaces that cater to the elderly, enhancing their quality of life and fostering their active participation in urban society.
