Targeted sequencing of pancreatic adenocarcinomas from patients with metachronous pulmonary metastases.

In pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), studies assessing actionable alterations or biomarkers of site-specific metastases are still missing. This study analysed somatic mutation spectre in surgically resected PDAC patients with metachronous pulmonary metastases. The panel of genes consisted of 250 most frequently mutated genes, cancer driver genes, and druggable/actionable genes; selected using public databases. 15 archival sample blocks of primary tumors and 3 paired pulmonary metastases were sequence using targeted NGS. The study evaluated prognostically different subgroups of PDAC patients for further utilizing in precision medicine.
