Filtered methanol.
Observed a graduate student's "polysaccharide methylation" experiment (did not fully understand the process and need to research further).

Afternoon
Learned how to collect liquid fractions based on peak detection from the preparative liquid chromatography system.
(Collection method: switch to a new vial at the onset of each peak, with even minor peaks collected separately).

Then assisted the graduate student by dissolving the beaker sample with methanol and transferring it into vials for storage.
