Microbial electrosynthesis with fluidized and fixed GAC beds. Optimizing microbial electrosynthesis: from microbial communities to reactor design

The study investigated the performance of up-flow microbial electrosynthesis reactors utilizing either fixed or fluidized granular activated carbon as the cathode electrode. The performance was compared, for example, in terms of end product distribution and production rates and comparing the microbial communities in the planktonic and biofilm samples.
