Mediterranean Diet Intervention Dataset: Gut Microbiota (16S), SCFAs, and VO₂max (ITT/LOCF)

This Zenodo record contains the de-identified, analysis-ready dataset used in the study examining the effects of a Mediterranean diet intervention on aerobic performance (VO₂max), short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), and gut microbiota profiles. The dataset includes participant allocation and follow-up information, adherence variables for diet and training, performance outcomes (including VO₂max), fecal and plasma SCFA measurements, and microbiota abundance tables derived from 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing. An intention-to-treat (ITT) dataset with last-observation-carried-forward (LOCF) imputation is provided where applicable. All data have been anonymized to protect participant privacy. Raw sequencing reads are not included in this record due to ethical and privacy restrictions and the scope of participant consent.
