资源简介:

This item level record is a primary source archival item, annotated Chinese source text, and digital humanities field record about mold economy, tooling networks, informal manufacturing, joint mold investment, mold sharing, production rights, local industrial lexicon, and township manufacturing in Jiepai, Danyang, Southern Jiangsu, the Yangtze River Delta, and China. This OA_V2 release is a metadata and documentation correction version for “Mold Economy, Tooling Networks, and Informal Manufacturing in Jiepai, Southern Jiangsu,” a Chinese narrative and author annotated source within the Jiepai Jianghu volume of the Chuanyue Archive. The main Chinese source text and author annotations remain unchanged from the previous public version. This OA_V2 release corrects previous romanization errors in the README, Standalone Abstract, and platform metadata concerning local industrial terms containing the character “模.” The previous public version remains archived and is not withdrawn, but its README and Standalone Abstract should not be cited for romanization, pinyin, or local lexicon readings. The corrected readings used in this OA_V2 version are “Muju” (模具, molds/tooling), “Muzi” (模子, local or vernacular term for mold/tooling), “He Mu” (合模, joint mold investment or joint mold development), “Bing Mu” (并模, incorporation into or paid use of an existing mold), “Jin San Jiao” (金三角, the local industrial triangle of Xinqiao, Jiepai, and Xiaohe), and “Xiaohe” (小河, formerly Xiaohe Town, now merged into Menghe but still commonly called Xiaohe by local speakers). The record documents how molds function as capital intensive production assets in the Jiepai automotive aftermarket and surrounding township manufacturing ecology. It explains how small and medium sized factories use molds to produce aftermarket auto parts, vehicle lighting components, bumpers, and related exterior parts. It focuses not on mold making technology itself, but on the economic, social, linguistic, and organizational systems through which molds are financed, shared, protected, reused, and contested. A central contribution of the record is its description of local mechanisms such as joint mold investment and incorporation into or paid use of existing molds. These mechanisms show how mold development costs, production risks, product rights, use rights, and market expectations are distributed among factories, business owners, and manufacturing partners. The platform summary intentionally describes these mechanisms at a structural level while leaving finer narrative, lexical, and business details in the unchanged main Chinese source file. The record situates Jiepai and nearby industrial places such as Xinqiao and Xiaohe within broader Southern Jiangsu and Yangtze River Delta manufacturing networks. It also records long term cross regional connections between Jiepai automotive parts producers and Huangyan mold workers and mold workshops in Zhejiang. Huangyan appears not only as a technical source of tooling capacity, but also as a site of trust, credit, business information, supplier relations, product intelligence, and inter regional industrial circulation. The item is relevant to economic anthropology, industrial anthropology, manufacturing studies, production network studies, regional industrial systems, Southern Jiangsu industrial clusters, Yangtze River Delta township manufacturing, informal contracting, relational manufacturing, inter firm trust, supplier networks, tooling economy, local industrial lexicon, vernacular manufacturing vocabulary, and the microhistory of industrial China. It offers a bottom up account of how local manufacturing actors coordinate investment, production access, market segmentation, cooperation, competition, and risk reduction outside a purely formal corporate or policy framework. The record also contributes to automotive aftermarket studies and the study of white label manufacturing. It describes how Jiepai’s aftermarket parts economy depends on mold development, product copying and differentiation, older vehicle models, tooling life, component reuse, and the changing pressure of electric vehicle transition and original equipment manufacturer control over vehicle lighting and exterior component systems. These industry observations are presented as situated field knowledge rather than as a formal market report, legal archive, engineering manual, or policy analysis. Methodologically, this item is based on the Archive Author’s native insider experience, family memory, direct participation in Jiepai automotive parts business, participation in mold related arrangements, observation of local factories, conversations with business owners and suppliers, author annotations, and provenance notes. It should be read as an emic field note style record, a metadata rich annotated Chinese source, a digital humanities field record, and a microhistorical record of local industrial memory, vernacular manufacturing vocabulary, and everyday manufacturing life. This OA_V2 metadata and documentation correction release has DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.21196310. The previous public item version has DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.21182138. The item is released as part of the Jiepai Jianghu volume within the Chuanyue Archive. The Jiepai Jianghu volume level record has DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.21140445. A more specific economy, commerce, or industry related series relation may be added later as the public series structure develops. This public OA_V2 release includes corrected platform metadata, README, Standalone Abstract, contextual metadata, and the unchanged public Chinese main file. It does not include real factory names, real business owner names, customer or supplier identifying information, detailed contracts, chat records, payment records, delivery slips, mold data, precise factory locations, proprietary mold files, raw provenance materials, private notes, unreleased supporting materials, controlled access materials, or materials retained in the Author Private Master Archive. Authorship and upload roles are separate. The Archive Author, The Jiepai Archivist, is the creator, archive owner, rights holder, and public contact person. Any uploader, depositor, or curatorial assistant provides deposit and formatting assistance only and is not the author, creator, archive owner, rights holder, or public contact for this archive.
