Data and code for "The thermal regime of the Whymper hanging glacier under climate change (Grandes Jorasses, 4050 m a.s.l., Italy)"

This repository contains the data and codes necessary to run the simulation associated with the paper "The thermal regime of the Whymper hanging glacier under climate change (Grandes Jorasses, 4050 m a.s.l., Italy)" which is currently under evaluation for publication in The Cryosphere. The Boreholes_Data.zip file contains the boreholes coordinates (UTM 32) and the associated temperature measurements. The Simulation.zip file contains the Elmer/Ice command file (.sif) and the mesh to run the model. Custom functions and solvers need to be compiled first using the file Compile_Solvers_and_functions.sh. Steady sate simulation must first be run to provide the initial conditions for the historical run. Similarly, future simulations (provided here for one scenario only) require running the historical simulation first to obtain the initial conditions for 2022. We note that all simulations were run using this version of Elmer : https://github.com/ElmerCSC/elmerfem/tree/f9ca191d4e48eaa39d7a1ab7e0977b76f642fcbf . Using a more recent realease may results in some compatibility issues.
