Buildings' Tsunami Vulnerability Index (BVI) Calculations

Calculations of BVI (buildings' tsunami vulnerability index) for sampled buildings from the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami (Rikuzentakata city, Natori city and Yamamoto town), 2018 Sulawesi tsunami (Palu city), and 2018 Sunda Strait tsunami (Banten and Lampung provinces). Field survey data sources as referenced in the article and data spreadsheet. The equation used to calculate the BVI was refined through expert opinion survey, and the buildings' assessed were divided into four categories of vulnerability (from less vulnerable to critically vulnerable) based on their index values.
