Pulsatile flow induces H3K9 methylation in endothelial cells

This study reveals the mechanism by which mechanical force such as shear stress regulate vascular inflammation. We demonstrate that pulsatile laminar shear stress induces a specific epigenetic landscape characterized by the enrichment of H3K9 tri-methylation at inflammatory gene loci.
