The Global Ocean Microbiome Catalogue

In the past two decades, many independent or large-scale projects have generated mass data silos on marine metagenomics but, until now, we still lack a unified and comprehensive collation. We collected public marine metagenomes from 2009 to 2020, reconstructed 43,191 qualified genomes. Combining these MAGs with public marine bacterial and archaeal genomes (NCBI, OMD and OceanDNA), we generated a non-redundant catalogue composed of 24,195 genomes, which represents the Global Ocean Microbiome Catalogue (GOMC).近二十年来，诸多独立或大型海洋宏基因组学项目已产生了大量数据孤岛，但截至目前，学界仍缺乏一套统一且全面的整合数据集。本研究收集了2009年至2020年间公开的海洋宏基因组数据，重构得到43191个合格的宏基因组组装基因组（Metagenome-Assembled Genome, MAG）。将这些MAG与公开的海洋细菌、古菌基因组（NCBI、OMD及OceanDNA）相结合，我们构建了一套包含24195个基因组的非冗余目录，即全球海洋微生物组目录（Global Ocean Microbiome Catalogue, GOMC）。
