Hyperspectral Bio-Optical Observations Sailing on Tara (HyperBOOST) Collocated In situ Dataset

The HyperBOOST co-located In situ Dataset is organised in three dataset categories (biogeochemical, IOPs, and AOPs), a separate Excel file was created for each of them. Each Excel file contains: a Metadata sheet, a Readme sheet, and one or more Data sheets. In all Excel files, each Data sheet includes a first column named “StationNumber”, which preserves the original station indexing and allows straightforward linkage with the Metadata sheet, where the same identifier is used. The file HyperBOOST_dataset_2023_2024_biogeochem_v20260410.xlsx contains the biogeochemical measurements measured during Tara Europa. Pigment concentrations are labelled using standard pigment abbreviations, which are listed and described in the Readme sheet. The file HyperBOOST_dataset_2023_2024_IOPs_v20260410.xlsx contains inherent optical properties (IOPs) derived from: filter-pad measurements, CDOM filtering, and inline optical systems. The file HyperBOOST_dataset_2023_2024_AOPs_v20260410.xlsx contains apparent optical properties (AOPs), specifically remote-sensing reflectance (Rrs) measured by two instruments: SoRad, and HTSRB. For the IOP and AOP measurements collected in continuous during the expedition, values were extracted for each station to generate the collocated dataset based on station duration, the CTD deployment time and the station coordinates. All the original data are provided in the Santinelli et al.. (2026) zenodo entry. in this version: the Metadata sheets were updated in the three files to fix some inconsistencies, the IOPs acquired by the inline optical systems were reprocessed and thus the relevant fields were updated in the file HyperBOOST_dataset_2023_2024_IOPs_v20260410.xlsx. in the file HyperBOOST_dataset_2023_2024_AOPs_v20260410.xlsx, flags description and values were updated for both SoRad and HTSRB.
