Zymoseptoria tritici Global Population Raw RNA sequence reads

In this study, we performed RNA sequencing of 19 Z. tritici isolates sampled over six different continents and covering the global distribution of the pathogen. Extraction of RNA samples was performed on isolates growing as hyphae on Vogel's Medium N salts without ammonium nitrate (Metzenberg 2003). We find extensive variation in expression for a range of pathogenicity-related gene functions. We also describe major shifts in the transcription of transposable elements across the species.
