资源简介:

Population exposure to particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5) is the crucial basis for determining the health effects of particulate matter. It is used as an important environmental indicator at international level (e.g. for the OECD Better Life Index). This study documents the methodological basis for determining the exposure of the Austrian population to PM10 and PM2.5 on the basis of the concept of representative areas. Topographic data, measurement and emission data of particulate matter and population data are related to each other. An annual update of the exposure calculation is thus possible. The mean PM2.5 exposure of the Austrian population calculated as a result of this study shows a significant decrease from 19.3 to 11.5 g/m3 between 2005 and 2016.
