Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi deliver phosphate (Pi) to the roots of host plants. The AM colonization level is influenced by Pi concentrations in the soil. We performed an RNA-sequencing analysis roots using L. japonicus roots colonizing with Rhizophagus irregularis applied with different Pi concentration (0.02, 0.1, 0.3 and 0.5 mM) fertilizer solution. First, L. japonicus plants inoculated with AM fungi were grown in low-Pi condition (0.1 mM) for three weeks. Then, we applied applied the four different Pi concentration fertilizer solution for one week. All plants were grown for 4 weeks after inoculation. The RNA samples extracted from the roots were used for cDNA library, and sequencing was performed using an Illumina HiSeq 2000 instrument.
